We are recruiting Welsh Language Wellbeing Facilitators (WBF)
Do you work in, or have a good understanding of, the TV and Film industry or a related creative sector? Are you empathetic, a good mediator, and passionate about supporting others? Do you want to help build a happier, healthier creative industry in Wales?
If so, we’re recruiting people to train as Freelance Wellbeing Facilitators (WBFs) – fully funded training provided. No prior WBF experience is needed; this is a training route into the role.
Note: we are looking for fluent Welsh Speakers.
About the role
Following a successful pilot in the screen industry, CULT Cymru and 6ft From The Spotlight are working in partnership with Creative Wales, employers and other stakeholders to continue rolling out the WBF role – with options for extending it into the wider creative sector, including music and live events.
Successful applicants will complete a fully funded training programme before taking up paid WBF work. Once trained, a WBF is a highly trained, third-party presence on location who supports productions to maintain best employment practice, de-escalate challenging situations, and advise on mental health risk – helping deliver outstanding creative content in a sustainable, ethical way.
Poor mental health remains a serious and well-documented issue across the creative industries, with rates of stress, bullying and burnout consistently higher than the UK average. We’re looking for people who want to be part of changing that.
What we’re looking for
- A good understanding of the TV/Film industry or a related creative sector
- Demonstrable experience of people management, supervision, or responsibility for others
- Excellent mediation, communication and diplomacy skills
- Empathy, discretion and sound judgement under pressure
- A commitment to diversity and inclusion in practice, not just in principle
- Confidence with everyday IT (email, spreadsheets, WhatsApp)
The details
Day rate: £300 per day
Commitment: Most contracts are part-time, typically 1-2 days per week, with no guarantee of regular work
Training: Fully funded modular training (approx. 10 sessions, once a week via Zoom), covering mental health and the law, psychological safety, safeguarding, risk assessment, coaching skills and more. Training time is unpaid
Support: All WBFs are contracted and insured via 6ft From The Spotlight, with ongoing mentoring, supervision and a peer support network
